There is no question that the head of the church universally or locally is Christ alone. “He is the head of the body, the Church…” (Colossians 1:15-20) In care for His Church has given her leaders, called by the Holy Spirit. (Acts 20:28, Ephesians 4:11-16) Leaders are to be qualified by the biblical commands. (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1) They are to serve the body as examples. (1 Peter 5:1-4, Hebrews 13:7) They are to serve with authority. (Hebrews 13:17) Leaders are to serve in plurality, each of the above scripture references and all New Testament references of church leadership include a plurality of men referred to as Elders, overseers, bishops or rulers. These men are called as a plurality of leaders to serve a local body under the headship of Christ. Faith Bible Menifee is served by a plurality of Elders who lead in doctrine and direction.
